March 2021 of growth in every product area

In March 2021, practically all sectors recorded positive developments.
The strongly export-oriented Swiss economy continues to depend on favorable framework conditions.
To be successful, vaccination campaigns worldwide need open markets, minimal trade barriers, low customs duties and efficient logistics.
Important topics for exports, such as the institutional framework agreement with the European Union, improving access to foreign infrastructure projects, curbing regulation or relieving companies of regulatory costs, were discussed during the panel discussion.

Talks on the outcome of the referendum on “partner Indonesia”

The March 7 vote on the Economic Partnership Agreement with Indonesia was also discussed.
Participants agreed that the positive outcome of the referendum, though by a narrow margin, should be carefully analyzed so that these agreements continue to enjoy majority support in the future.
Efforts to reconcile trade and sustainable development should be continued and strengthened, and the value and mechanisms of these agreements should be openly communicated.
