New exclusive offers for italians abroad registered with A.I.R.E.

Special discounts and benefits with Trenitalia for Italians living abroad who are regularly registered with A.I.R.E. to travel in Italy until December 31, 2024.

In agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Trenitalia offers a discount to Italians living abroad.

Trenitalia is reserving the following benefits for Italians residing abroad and registered with the “Anagrafe Italiani Residenti all’Estero” (A.I.R.E.), who travel in Italy:

Discounts of up to 80% with the Special Events offer, for travel on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca
40% reduction for the purchase of Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca tickets for groups of at least 10 paying passengers traveling together
Possibility to purchase Trenitalia Pass to visit Italy

Concessions are valid for travel until December 31, 2024.

Please note that when checking tickets on board the train, you will have to show your AIRE registration certificate.

This can be requested from your municipality of registration or through SPID or CIE, for compatriots who have them, by accessing the services area of the municipality of registration

Special Offer Events

For all AIRE members, the “Special Events” offer allows you to purchase train tickets for services within the Italian territory with the variable discount from 20% to 80% compared to the full Base price, in 1st and 2nd class, in Business, Premium and Standard service levels on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains.

Executive service level and lounge service are excluded.

The offer can be purchased until midnight of the second day prior to the departure of the train, on the website www.trenitalia.com, on the Trenitalia App, at ticket offices and authorized travel agencies. The number of seats available for the offer is limited and varies, depending on days, trains and class or level of service. At the time of purchase, the system always proposes the most advantageous price available.

It is possible to exchange names with other AIRE-registered individuals free of charge, an unlimited number of times from the day of issuance until the departure of the booked train. After the departure of the train, the change is no longer allowed. 40% reduction for groups

Trenitalia grants Italians living abroad registered with AIRE the opportunity to purchase train tickets for travel within the Italian territory of groups consisting of at least ten people with a 40% reduction on the Base adult fare. The reduction is allowed only in 1st and 2nd class and in the Business, Premium and Standard service levels of Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains in domestic service.

Executive service level and lounge service are excluded.

The request should be submitted with passenger list and copies of AIRE registration certificates by e-mail to the Frecciarossa Group Offices at least eight days in advance of departure:

The discount is applied according to the availability of seats, limited by day, train, class or level of service and cannot be combined with other different types of offers and/or promotions that may be offered by Trenitalia on the same products and for the same relations, except for the one provided in favor of teens. In the case of groups composed of adult and youth travelers, there must be at least one adult. In any case, the minimum fares provided for each category of train are subject.

One free reservation change is allowed up to one hour after the departure of the booked train:

before departure at any Trenitalia Ticket Office, Trenitalia Group Offices, Travel Agencies, or at www.trenitalia.com;
after departure only at the Ticket Office located at the train departure station indicated on the ticket.

Ticket exchange is permitted only once until midnight of the fifth day prior to the departure of the booked train at any Trenitalia Ticket Office and Trenitalia Group Offices. Refund with 20% deduction is allowed up to midnight of the fifth day prior to the departure of the booked train. In case of access to train other than the booked one, the traveler will be considered and regularized as having no ticket.

Purchasing the Trenitalia Pass

The Trenitalia Pass is a product that allows you to visit Italy with Frecce and FrecciaLink, choosing between two passes (Easy or Comfort) and selecting the number of trips between 3, 4, 7 or 10 and the type of passenger between Adult, Senior and Youth.The sale of the Trenitalia Pass is extended to Italian citizens residing abroad who are regularly registered with AIRE.
