There is a Swiss DOC at the European Patent Organisation

Catherine Chammartin, now Director of the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, was elected to the EPO Executive Board in Munich

At its meeting on March 23, the Board of Directors of the European Patent Organization (EPO) unanimously elected Catherine Chammartin as a member of its Executive Board.
In her new role on this eight-member body, the director of the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) will prepare the affairs of the Board for a period of three years.
The Board oversees the activities of the European Patent Office. The EPO, which is headquartered in Munich, has 38 members, including all European Union states, Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

The IPI is a federal centre of excellence

The IPI is the competence center of the Swiss Confederation for all questions concerning patent, trademark and design protection, indications of source and copyright.
Individuals and companies turn to the IPI to protect their innovations and creations from misuse. In addition, the IPI informs the public about protection systems.
The IPI fulfils a political mandate in the field of intellectual property by preparing legislation, advising the federal authorities and representing Switzerland’s interests in international organisations and in dealings with other countries.
