Veneto candidate to host EU “anticoronavirus” authority

The candidacy of Venice and the Region to host the HERA is unquestionably a contribution to the growth and affirmation of the whole country”.

This is how the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, announced the formalization of the candidacy of Venice and its territory as the headquarters of the European Union’s Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).

On December 14 The “governor” originally from Conegliano, in the province of Treviso, actually signed and sent the letter with the official proposal to the President of the Council of Ministers, Giuseppe Conte.
“We have transmitted to Palazzo Chigi an in-depth and detailed feasibility study,” added President Luca Zaia.

A strategic location for movement within the Union, supported by excellent logistical links and efficient transport, to which are added the effectiveness of the local infrastructure network and the cohesion of the economic and social system.”

“The Venetian candidacy is for Brussels a high profile solution because it represents a best practice at international level,” concluded the President of Veneto.
“I have confirmed to the President of the Council that we believe in it and we will support this project also in Brussels; from this idea a cascade of opportunities opens for the whole country and the whole European Union.”
