The World Economic Forum in Brief

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an international organization for public-private cooperation involving key political, business, cultural, and other societal leaders to shape global, regional, and industrial agendas.

WEF was established in 1971 as a nonprofit, independent and impartial foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland and is committed to demonstrating entrepreneurship in the global public interest while upholding the highest standards of governance. Moral and intellectual integrity is at the heart of everything it does.

The Forum is chaired by founder and executive chairman Professor Klaus Schwab and is guided by a Board of Directors.

The organization has a branch in the United States of America with offices in New York (headquarters for various industry and system initiatives as well as activities in North America and Latin America) and San Francisco (home of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution).
