Swiss Film Honor Award 2021 to “Lilo Pulver”

The award to the great Bernese actress of international stature, born in 1929, will be streamed on March 26 from the RTS studios in Geneva on quartz.ch

The 2021 Swiss Film Award of Honor goes to Liselotte Schmid-Pulver, better known as “Lilo Pulver,” a Swiss actress with an international profile.
The award ceremony will take place in virtual format and will be streamed live on Friday, March 26 on the Swiss Film Prize website “quartz.ch”.
Born in Bern in 1929, “Lilo Pulver” studied acting at the school of dramatic art in her hometown.

Abroad from Douglas Sirk (1958) to Billy Wilder (1961)

She soon gained notoriety both in Switzerland and Germany, so much so that in 1958 Douglas Sirk hired her for the leading role in the film “Time to Live”, thus launching an international film career.
“Lilo Pulver” made her mark on film history with her sense of humor and critically acclaimed refined and rebellious performances.
She was nominated for a “Golden Globe” in 1964 and received the German Film Honor Award in 1980.
By awarding her the Swiss Film Prize of Honour, worth 30,000 francs, the Federal Office of Culture (FOC) wishes to highlight the role she has played in world cinema from the 1950s to the present day.

Award ceremony streaming on www.quartz.ch

The Swiss Film Award ceremony will take place on Friday, March 26, 2021. The event will be recorded in the RTS studios in Geneva and streamed live on quartz.ch.
The tribute to Swiss film creation is being organized by the Federal Office of Culture together with partners SRG SSR and Association “Quartz” Genève Zürich.
Swiss Films, the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Days are also collaborating in the organization. More information about the ceremony will follow at www.quartz.ch.
