The Confederation will sit on the Board of Directors with Toni Eder and Sabine D’Amelio-Favez in order to comply with the Armanent Companies Act in a defensive manner
At its meeting on March 12, 2021, the Federal Council decided that the Confederation, as the owner of the RUAG Group, will sit on the Board of Directors of the holding company at the head of the group until the hive-off is completed.
In this way, the government intends to accompany the privatisation process of RUAG International even more closely. The DDPS and the FDF are now represented on the Board of Directors of the holding company.

The federal government as the owner entity defends its interests against the RUAG group in the dual system.
The DDPS is responsible for the affairs of the holding company and the subholding company MRO Switzerland, while the FDF will assume responsibility for the affairs of RUAG.
The Federal Council has appointed Toni Eder, Secretary General of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport DDPS and Sabine D’Amelio-Favez, Director of the Federal Finance Administration FFA, as its representatives.
Changes at the arms technology giant
As of April 2021, the chairmen of the boards of directors of the two subholdings will take over. The Board of Directors of the holding company at the head of the group will continue to be chaired by Monica Duca Widmer.
In addition to the president, Toni Eder and Sabine D’Amelio-Favez, two other independent women will also retain their seats on the Board of Directors.

The Federal Act on Federal Armament Companies provides that it may be represented on the Board of Directors of the holding company in accordance with its interests.
