Coronavirus: coaching project for the hotel industry

An initiative of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and HotellerieSuisse to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in the context of COVID-related challenges

On February 23, 2021, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and HotellerieSuisse launched a joint coaching program for the hotel industry with the aim of strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in the context of COVID-related challenges.
The current coronavirus crisis represents a major challenge for the entire Swiss tourism industry.

The needs of guests are changing significantly and hotel companies will have to reorient themselves.
In a crisis like this, it is important to set the course for the future of a business and to react in time to a dynamic environment. HotellerieSuisse has therefore developed a coaching program for the industry and will implement it as part of a strategic partnership with SECO starting in April 2021.

An external coach under the New Regional Policy

Thanks to financial support from SECO’s New Regional Policy (NPR), hotel companies have the opportunity to have their potential analyzed on site, in collaboration with an external coach.
Objective: to identify factors to be optimized, make strategic decisions and take effective corrective action.
Social and technological trends, such as sustainability and digitalization, play an important role, and with this coaching program, hotels will be ready to face the future.

The target group consists of small and medium-sized individual companies that take on the business risk themselves and whose owners are heavily involved in operations.
Companies participating in the program can benefit from coaching for a maximum of five days per company.

Privileged accommodations classified from 10 to 60 rooms

The program will officially kick off on April 1, 2021, but hospitality businesses can apply to participate as early as today. At the same time, the coach accreditation process will begin.
The program is open to members and non-members of HotellerieSuisse and is intended for accommodations classified as 10 to 60 rooms.
