Hire points and vehicle usability “live” on the Web

The interactive app www.sharedmobility.ch will show rental areas and access to “shared mobility” cars and bikes in Switzerland

Mobility service providers will be able to integrate the data into their systems or apps free of charge and facilitate access to their means of transport throughout the Swiss Confederation.
The platform www.sharedmobility.ch is operated by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), the SwitzerlandEnergy programme and “shared mobility” providers throughout Switzerland.

“shared mobility” to be emphasised

The term “shared mobility” refers to the shared use of means of transport such as cars, bicycles, e-bikes and electric scooters by several users.

These means are no longer understood as individual property, but as collective property that can be accessed according to need.
In this way, mobility becomes a service. The centralised platform www.sharedmobility.ch will support the further spread of shared mobility.

Open data: mobility providers can use the news

The platform is fed via real-time interfaces and made available to shared mobility providers.
Mobility providers can use this data in their apps without having to agree with each shared mobility provider on its own data interface.
The data can for example be used for the multimodal route planner of public transport operators. The data is usable as open data, regulated by the “O-By” licence.
This means that they can be used freely as long as the source is indicated.

Additional shared mobility providers are needed

Currently the platform http://www.sharedmobility.ch shows the rental locations and the availability of offers of the following shared mobility providers: AirBie, Bird, BOND, Carvelo2go, Donkey Republic, edrive carsharing, Mobility, Nextbike, Pick-e-Bike, PubliBike, Rent a Bike, TIER, VOI and Zisch.

Other interested providers can join at any time.
The aim is to make all Swiss shared mobility offers available on the platform as quickly as possible.
