Canton of Ticino says yes to payments to the state in Bitcoin<\/h1>\n

With the support of UDC, Lega dei Ticinesi, FDP and some PPD members, the Grand Council approved the 2017 motion on cryptocurrencies by Paolo Pamini<\/em><\/h3>\n

The Republic and Canton of Ticino has moved towards the concrete possibility of allowing its citizens and residents to pay for state services in Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the minority argued that Ticino should not promote virtual currencies because of the danger of evasion linked to it, the lack of transparency on the beneficiaries and the large amount of energy they require.
\nWith this decision, Switzerland’s only Italian-speaking canton also adopted a procedure similar to the one already in force in Chiasso as well as in Zug, both State and city.<\/p>\n
