They do so in some 2 million dwellings distributed in just under 540,000 city buildings.<br \/>\nNearly three-quarters of the dwellings are occupied by renters, most of whom live in three-room apartments. This is what the results of the &#8220;Swiss City Statistics 2021&#8221;, focusing on the theme of &#8220;Living in the City&#8221;, report.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/bankruptcies-debt-enforcement-decline-throughout-switzerland\/\"><strong>Bankruptcies and debt enforcement in decline throughout Switzerland<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/how-much-does-switzerland-consume-87-million-tons-per-year\/\"><strong>How much does Switzerland consume? 87 million tons per year<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/digital-geodata-from-swisstopo-available-free-of-charge-for-use\/\"><strong>Digital geodata from swisstopo available for use free of charge<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Union of Swiss Cities publishes the yearbook in collaboration with the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).<br \/>\nAfter an urban exodus in the 1980s and 1990s, Swiss cities have undergone a renaissance in the last twenty years. Revive between Glarus and Appenzell&#8230;.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/switzerland-the-fantastic-four-direct-democracy\/\"><strong>Switzerland and the &#8220;fantastic four&#8221; of direct democracy<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2018, a total of 2.2 million dwellings were available in 539,767 urban residential buildings in the 171 Swiss cities under review.<br \/>\nOf these, 46.8 percent were single-family homes, while 35.6 were multi-family. Large dwellings with five or more rooms are rarer in large cities, where they account for 9.8 percent of the total, while their share in other size classes is 19 percent.<br \/>\nSixty-nine percent of urban renters live in a dwelling consisting of three or four rooms. A &#8220;hidden&#8221; treasure to be exploited&#8230;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Brig-Glis, M\u00f6hlin, Spiez and Uzwil, more than half of the occupied dwellings are privately owned. In 2020, the FDP won 27.2 percent of the seats in municipal executives.<br \/>\nIt is followed by the SP with 20.6 percent. The FDP lost 0.2 percent from the previous year and thus still holds 15.1 percent of the seats.<br \/>\nThe SVP retains fourth place, although it lost 0.2 percent to 11.4 percent.<br \/>\nThe Greens gained 0.8 percent more seats than in the previous year and now hold 7.7 percent of the seats in municipal executives.<br \/>\nIn the legislatures, the FDP holds 22.3 percent, followed by the SP with 20.9 percent and the SVP with 15.3 percent. is published in collaboration with the FSO.<br \/>\nIn addition to data on city living, it contains as usual numerous facts and information on topics such as population, work and income, finances, mobility and education.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/competitivenes-spirit-federalism\/\"><strong>The ethic of competitiveness and the spirit of federalism<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/waldstaette-forest-cantons-swiss\/\"><strong>Waldst\u00e4tte and the &#8220;forest&#8221;
