Switzerland and… Global Commission for the Energy Future<\/h1>\n

Ahead of the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, the new entity will draft recommendations that put people at the center of a clean energy turnaround<\/em><\/h3>\n

Governments around the world are organizing the transition to a carbon-free energy economy.<\/p>\n

These transformations will affect many people around the world.<\/p>\n

“The doubts of the population at the center of the debate.”<\/h4>\n

“We must take the needs and doubts of the population into account when making decisions. Only in this way will the population accept the energy turnaround,<\/em>” said Federal Councillor Simonetta Sommaruga at the first meeting of the Commission.<\/p>\n

The latter emphasized that governments must allow the people to participate in shaping this transition.<\/p>\n

The Commission was convened by Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, which currently has 26 members.<\/p>\n
