{"id":95523,"date":"2021-03-15T17:47:08","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T17:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/la-svizzera-e-con-lonu-affinche-i-bambini-siano-ascoltati\/"},"modified":"2021-05-25T07:51:39","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T07:51:39","slug":"switzerland-joins-the-un-in-making-childrens-voices-heard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/switzerland-joins-the-un-in-making-childrens-voices-heard\/","title":{"rendered":"Switzerland joins the UN in making children&#8217;s voices heard"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Switzerland joins the UN in making children&#8217;s voices heard<\/h1>\n<h3><em>Federal Council to subsidize children&#8217;s rights organizations and training providers for five years<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>People who work with and for children need to know about and comply with children&#8217;s rights<br \/>\nPeople who work with and for children need to be better informed about children&#8217;s rights and comply with them.<br \/>\nThe Federal Council considers the right of children and young people to be heard and to participate to be particularly important, for example when parents divorce or when a child is placed outside the family home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/switzerland-the-fantastic-four-direct-democracy\/\"><strong>Switzerland and the &#8220;fantastic four&#8221; of direct democracy<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/competitivenes-spirit-federalism\/\"><strong>The ethics of competitiveness and the spirit of federalism<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/waldstaette-forest-cantons-swiss\/\"><strong>Waldst\u00e4tte and the &#8220;forest&#8221; cantons at the dawn of Switzerland&#8217;s&#8230;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At its meeting on March 5, 2021, the Federal Council decided to support organizations that raise awareness of children&#8217;s rights in the education and training sector with financial aid for a period of five years.<br \/>\nIn this way, the Executive is also fulfilling recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child aimed at improving the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.<br \/>\nJudges, lawyers, social workers, social pedagogues, police officers, teachers, migration specialists and other professionals need to be able to take children&#8217;s rights into account in their daily work.<br \/>\nProfessional groups should be encouraged to include children&#8217;s rights in their training and continuing education courses. In the context of court decisions or decisions by the child protection authority, this contributes significantly to finding solutions that take better account of the good of the child than when only the adult perspective is considered.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/the-presidency-helvetic-confederation-from-1848-to-present-day\/\"><strong>The Presidency of the Swiss Confederation from 1848 to the present day<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/swiss-monuments-hidden-treasure-to-be-exploited\/\"><strong>Swiss monuments? A &#8220;hidden&#8221; treasure to be valued&#8230;<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/athenian-democracy-revive-between-glarus-appenzell\/\"><strong>Athenian democracy? Revive between Glarus and Appenzell&#8230;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in the event of divorce, threats to the welfare of children or extra-familial placement, the right to be heard and to participate can help the children and young people concerned to cope better with the stressful situation.<br \/>\nWith these measures, the Federal Council is also implementing recommendations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.
