In many Swiss regions, citizens perceive growing pressure on infrastructure, public services, and security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"966\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Among the most frequently cited problems are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"1357\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1adrfvm\" data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"1012\"><span class=\"font-377884\">increasing traffic and daily congestion;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"9rbnq7\" data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1049\"><span class=\"font-377884\">rising rents and cost of living;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"2ior2d\" data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1091\"><span class=\"font-377884\">overloaded trains and infrastructure;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"oyrdia\" data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1124\"><span class=\"font-377884\">pressure on social services;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"9edzw6\" data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1167\"><span class=\"font-377884\">difficulty finding affordable housing;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1g98ssw\" data-start=\"1168\" data-end=\"1217\"><span class=\"font-377884\">overcrowding in tourist and ski destinations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1nyxefh\" data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1281\"><span class=\"font-377884\">growing competition in the labor market in certain sectors;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1vzcosg\" data-start=\"1282\" data-end=\"1304\"><span class=\"font-377884\">increase in crime;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"s4g6u9\" data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1357\"><span class=\"font-377884\">growing perception of insecurity among citizens.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1359\" data-end=\"1585\"><span class=\"font-377884\">For many Swiss people, the most worrying change is not only economic, but the feeling that the country is gradually losing the security, stability, and calm that for decades have been one of the Confederation\u2019s main strengths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1923\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Switzerland has always been considered one of the safest countries in the world. However, the opening of borders within the Schengen area and the increase in migratory flows have fueled an increasingly heated debate about territorial control, cross-border crime, and the state\u2019s ability to guarantee order and security in the long term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"2219\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Several foreign governments have recently updated their travel recommendations for citizens heading to Europe, advising greater caution than in the past in certain urban and tourist areas. This reflects an international perception that the European security context has changed in recent years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2221\" data-end=\"2316\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Switzerland is a small country, with limited territory and already heavily used infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2318\" data-end=\"2502\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Continuing to expand the population without a sustainable strategy risks undermining precisely what makes the country attractive: order, efficiency, security, and high quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2614\"><span class=\"font-377884\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aiwealthmachine.ai\/\"><strong>AI WEALTH MACHINE<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1pzz1ck\" data-start=\"2526\" data-end=\"2564\"><span class=\"font-377884\">A smarter and more sustainable path<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2566\" data-end=\"2657\"><span class=\"font-377884\">There is, however, an alternative: focusing on qualitative rather than quantitative growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2659\" data-end=\"2714\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Switzerland can strengthen its economy by investing in:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2916\">\n<li data-section-id=\"18va8b0\" data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2731\"><span class=\"font-377884\">automation;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1bjtbwu\" data-start=\"2732\" data-end=\"2745\"><span class=\"font-377884\">robotics;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"nwkmqo\" data-start=\"2746\" data-end=\"2774\"><span class=\"font-377884\">artificial intelligence;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1dmotvq\" data-start=\"2775\" data-end=\"2804\"><span class=\"font-377884\">technological innovation;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"uxne2r\" data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2832\"><span class=\"font-377884\">increased productivity;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1y8wl09\" data-start=\"2833\" data-end=\"2873\"><span class=\"font-377884\">modern and efficient infrastructure;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1jgv1v0\" data-start=\"2874\" data-end=\"2916\"><span class=\"font-377884\">highly skilled education and training.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2918\" data-end=\"3058\"><span class=\"font-377884\">The goal should not simply be \u201chaving more people,\u201d but enabling each worker to generate more added value through technology and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3060\" data-end=\"3096\"><span class=\"font-377884\">A high-productivity economy enables:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3098\" data-end=\"3261\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1y5m0zx\" data-start=\"3098\" data-end=\"3115\"><span class=\"font-377884\">higher wages;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"un8dlk\" data-start=\"3116\" data-end=\"3139\"><span class=\"font-377884\">lower tax pressure;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1kfblzd\" data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3167\"><span class=\"font-377884\">a more efficient state;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"eosozq\" data-start=\"3168\" data-end=\"3190\"><span class=\"font-377884\">lower public debt;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"gk6v2v\" data-start=\"3191\" data-end=\"3233\"><span class=\"font-377884\">greater international competitiveness;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"15hfehg\" data-start=\"3234\" data-end=\"3261\"><span class=\"font-377884\">better quality of life.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1yjo905\" data-start=\"3263\" data-end=\"3298\"><span class=\"font-377884\">The true strength of Switzerland<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3300\" data-end=\"3433\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Swiss prosperity did not come from uncontrolled population growth. Switzerland became a global model thanks to well-defined elements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3435\" data-end=\"3569\">\n<li data-section-id=\"e0a855\" data-start=\"3435\" data-end=\"3450\"><span class=\"font-377884\">federalism;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1370g0n\" data-start=\"3451\" data-end=\"3472\"><span class=\"font-377884\">direct democracy;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ix7qnh\" data-start=\"3473\" data-end=\"3494\"><span class=\"font-377884\">social stability;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"18rpo1q\" data-start=\"3495\" data-end=\"3510\"><span class=\"font-377884\">innovation;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wpg27b\" data-start=\"3511\" data-end=\"3543\"><span class=\"font-377884\">high value-added industries;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1de43n3\" data-start=\"3544\" data-end=\"3569\"><span class=\"font-377884\">a culture of quality.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3571\" data-end=\"3681\"><span class=\"font-377884\">This model has allowed the country to remain competitive without sacrificing its identity and social cohesion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/ai-wealth-machine-andre-schenone\/\">AI Wealth Machine \u2013 strategies for the work and income of the future<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"rq43od\" data-start=\"3744\" data-end=\"3773\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Technology and sovereignty<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3775\" data-end=\"4240\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Population aging represents a real challenge for Switzerland, but the response should not automatically be continuous demographic growth based on immigration from culturally very different contexts. In the long run, such a strategy can significantly alter the country\u2019s social balance and lead to the native population becoming progressively a minority, with the risk of weakening the cohesion and cultural identity that have historically characterized Switzerland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4242\" data-end=\"4504\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Alternatively, new technologies can offer a more sustainable response: automation, artificial intelligence, and innovation can increase the overall efficiency of the economic system, reducing the workload on individual workers and improving overall productivity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4506\" data-end=\"4704\"><span class=\"font-377884\">In this way, the resident population could benefit from a higher quality of life, with less work pressure and more time available for family, also creating more favorable conditions for birth rates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4706\" data-end=\"4894\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Automation and artificial intelligence should not be seen as threats, but as tools to preserve Swiss well-being, keeping infrastructure, public services, and the social system sustainable.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"14bg69k\" data-start=\"4896\" data-end=\"4913\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Growing better<\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4915\" data-end=\"4947\"><span class=\"font-377884\">The fundamental question is not:<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4949\" data-end=\"4998\"><span class=\"font-377884\">\u201cHow do we continuously increase the population?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5000\" data-end=\"5011\"><span class=\"font-377884\">But rather:<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5013\" data-end=\"5080\"><span class=\"font-377884\">\u201cHow do we increase productivity, innovation, and quality of life?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5082\" data-end=\"5296\"><span class=\"font-377884\">Switzerland, being a small Alpine country with limited and highly urbanized territory, cannot sustain indefinitely a high population growth without putting pressure on infrastructure, services, and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5298\" data-end=\"5389\"><span class=\"font-377884\">A strong Switzerland is built on productivity, sovereignty, innovation, and sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5391\" data-end=\"5471\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span class=\"font-377884\">The challenge of the future will not be to grow at any cost, but to grow better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/k16trade.ch\/seqex-en\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-230949 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/FullLogo_Transparent_NoBuffer-300x145.png\" alt=\"K16 TRADE &amp;
