poem-narrative that weaves an educational message with a charming fairy-tale tone. The simple, flowing story offers an important reflection on the relationship between food, health and folk wisdom, teaching children to value what is often overlooked or rejected.

The text is striking in its clear and accessible structure, suitable for younger readers but rich in meaning for adults as well. The author manages to transform everyday ingredients such as garlic and onions into epic protagonists, endowing them with personality and humanity. Their suffering from the children’s rejection and their departure from the village are narrative moments that elicit empathy and create an emotional bridge with the reader.

The poem presents an obvious moral: what may seem unwelcome or useless often has hidden value, to be rediscovered in times of trouble. The return of the garlic and onion, accompanied by the children’s repentance, seals the happy ending, celebrating the power of reconciliation and awareness.

Stylistically, the language is simple but evocative, with vivid imagery that makes the story lively and engaging. The repetition of phrases such as “long live the garlic and the onion” emphasizes the final message and leaves a smile on the reader’s face.

In conclusion, “Long Live the Garlic and the Onion” is a poem that not only educates but entertains, managing to combine tradition and fantasy in a tale with a genuine and universal flavor. Perfect for children, but also a pleasant reminder for adults about the importance of simple, natural food.

The autumn of my time, the spring of yours

Some awards for her work

Premio nazionale di poesia “Arturo Massimi” nell’ottobre del 1999 a Mentana – Roma;

Concorso internazionale artistico-letterario, Antonio de Curtis “Totò”, Roma 22 ottobre 2002.

PREMIO UNA VITA PER LA CULTURA “Galleria Salotto dell’arte ROMA”.

2014 – IV Premio Letterario Internazionale Europa per il romanzo (DAL PROFONDO DEL CUORE) – 11 Maggio 2014 LUGANO.

II Premio NAVARRO per il romanzo (DAL PROFONDO DEL CUORE) il 13 maggio 2018 a SAMBUCA DI SICILIA – Sicilia.

Premio speciale LILLY BROGGI “LA PERGOLA ARTE” Per il romanzo (DAL PROFONDO DEL CUORE) Firenze, 27 Ottobre 2018.

V Premio per il Romanzo (DAL PROFONDO DEL CUORE) A VERSILIA GLUB “MASSA CITTÀ FIABBESCA DI MARE E DI MARMO” 28 Settembre 2019.

1° Premio internazionale dedicato all’universo femminile “DONNE D’AMORE” V.
