Zaira Sellerio among the finalists of the international award “Donne D’Amore<\/span><\/h1>\n

On May 22, 2023, at the Campidoglio of Rome, will be held the award ceremony of the international prize “Donne d’Amore” organized by the association Naschira, partner of the group Barrett International, which has been working for a long time in the national social and cultural field.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

Zaira Sellerio<\/strong> (stage name) is an Italian writer and poet of Sicilian origin, born in San Giuseppe Jato (PA) on 10 June 1954. She arrived in Switzerland, more precisely in Klingnau in the canton of Aargau, with her family in 1965 at the age of 11 years, and nurtured from an early age a deep passion for literature and poetry. She has had an eventful life, with a marriage imposed by her family at the age of 16, from which two children were born. She currently lives in Neuenhof, in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland, and after working in industry as an electronics technician, she is retired and proud to be the grandmother of Gabriele and Sofia and to devote herself entirely to the art of writing.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also enjoys writing poems in Sicilian dialect and collaborates with Cammarata web TV.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of his works have been awarded with various prizes<\/span><\/h2>\n

The novel “Dal profondo del cuore<\/strong>“, an autobiographical and moving story published by Michelangelo 1915 Editore in Naples, has won many awards: it is in its third reprint and has received the INTERNATIONAL PRIZE EUROPA and the PRIZE IV LUGANO 2014. In May 2018, in Sanbuca di Sicilia, he received the NAVARRO IN SICILY award.<\/span><\/p>\n

His poetry collection “L’ultima valigia di cartone<\/strong>“, also published by the same Neapolitan publishing house, has also been well received.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is also the author of “Piacevoli Equivoci<\/strong>“, two comic texts entitled “Agenzia matrimoniale; o sposati, o rimborsati<\/em>” and “Le corna sono uguali per tutti<\/em>“, published by Arduino Sacco Editore and included in 2014 in the anthology “Vivo da Poeta” in Turin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il treno dei ricordi<\/h2>\n

Ricordo la prima volta che salii su questo treno,
\nGi\u00e0 la fantasia mi portava lontano.
\nTerra sconosciuta!
\nTi affacciavi nei miei pensieri.
\nIntanto il treno cominci\u00f2 a sferragliare.
\nI miei figli, con il loro cappottini stretti attaccati alla gonna
\ndella nonna,
\nsalutavano pallidi ed insicuri con la manina:
\n\u201dTorna presto mammina ….!\u201d.
\nIl treno andava…
\nI tetti della mia citt\u00e0, il mare, gli agrumeti scomparivano.
\nIl pensiero ritornava a mia madre e a i miei bambini seduti
\ndavanti al focolare in casa mia.
\n\u201dChiederanno di me?\u201d.
\nLa nostalgia mi stringeva il cuore.
\nIl pensiero snodava l\u2019immagine dei miei bambini
\nvivi nel mio sguardo stretti ora intorno a mia madre
\nper chiedere quella protezione che io non potevo dar loro pi\u00f9.
\nUna voce rauca grid\u00f2 \u201dBiglietti!\u201d.
\nE finii di sognare.
\nLa vita che mi aspettava non era facile…..
\nArrivai nella terra sconosciuta dove ogni persona che parlava
\nnon la capivo.
\nEro straniera.
\nCos\u00ec cominci\u00f2 la mia vita di donna sola.
\nSola lontana da casa, sola lontana da tutti,
\nsenza un\u2019amica…..
\nA chi rivolgermi?
\nAnni tremendi, vita disadattata.
