Since then, anyone who meets the conditions can obtain permission to open a casino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/liechtenstein-celebrates-monument-day-150-years-railway\/\">Liechtenstein celebrates Monument Day and 150 years of the railway<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\">Currently the small principality, already holds a world record with six casinos for about 39,000 inhabitants surpassing even Las Vegas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\">The initiative to ban casinos was promoted by the &#8220;<em>IG Volksmeinung<\/em>&#8221; and called for the closure of existing ones within five years.
