With the theme \u201cNetwork detection and security of Internet of Things devices\u201d, innovative solutions are being sought in the area of automatic network search and security check. The winner will receive an order for a proof of concept and demonstrate their solution in a real DDPS environment. Here, it is responding to the growing cyber risks and is once again seeking innovative technologies as part of its cyber startup challenge this year. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cNetwork detection and security of Internet of Things (IoT; Internet of Things) devices\u201d, focuses on ideas for the automatic network search and security check of IoT devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/gianluca-tirozzi-this-is-how-bitcorp-will-conquer-metaspace\/\">Gianluca Tirozzi: &#8220;This is how bitCorp will conquer metaspace!&#8221;<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swissfederalism.ch\/en\/national-cyber-security-centre-become-a-federal-office\/\">The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will become a federal office<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"font-377884\">Innovative solutions for network search and security check<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\">The 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge explores the startup landscape around the topic of \u201cNetwork detection and security of IoT devices\u201d. The CYD Campus is looking for startup companies with innovative technology solutions in the area of automatic network search to find all connected devices and assess and improve the security of IoT devices such as routers or firewalls. Finally, selected concrete solutions will be proposed for implementation in the DDPS.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"font-377884\">Call for 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\">Startups can submit their proposals for solutions for the 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge until 31 August 2022. The three startups with the most innovative technological solutions will present their proposals at the Cyber-Defence Conference on 26 October 2022 in Bern. A jury consisting of experts from the DDPS will select the best solution during the conference. Its tasks include early detection of the latest trends in the cyber area, developing and testing cyber technologies and training cyber specialists. It was founded at armasuisse Science and Technology in 2019 as part of the DDPS\u2019s cyber defence action plan and contributes to the DDPS cyber strategy and the national strategy for the protection of Switzerland from cyber risks (NCS).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-377884\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ar.admin.ch\/en\/home.detail.news.html\/ar-internet\/news-2022\/news-w-t\/cyber-startup-challenge.html\">Call for the Cyber Startup Challenge 2022<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"general-conditions-for-the-challenge\"><span class=\"font-377884\">General Conditions for the challenge<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The startup is younger than seven years as of November 2022<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The founders are still investors and active<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The company has at least three employees including active founders<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The final selected startup will be awarded a contract to integrate a Proof of Concept of the technology in the DDPS<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The awarded contract has a maximal value of CHF 100&#8217;000. The value is subject to the work required to integrate the Proof of Concept<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The Proof of Concept is supported by the Cyber-Defence Campus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">This challenge is not a competition with price nor a tender. It is a market research to find a promising technology best suited for the demands of the DDPS around cyber threat intelligence and where companies can register voluntarily<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The Proof of Concept is not meant for operational deployment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">Any further acquisition will go through a tender, and the Proof of Concept does not guarantee any additional mandate or purchase<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">All other companies that applied can still be considered for tenders and further challenges<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-377884\">The company accept the\u00a0<a class=\"icon icon--after icon--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ar.admin.ch\/en\/beschaffung\/lieferant-der-armasuisse-werden\/agb-lieferant-werden.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General Terms and Conditions of the Swiss Confederation (GTC)<\/a>\u00a0without reservation.
