Switzerland will help the transformation of food systems<\/h1>\n

At the pre-Vertex in Rome, the Swiss government said yes to the application of the 13 agroecological principles of the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE)<\/em><\/h3>\n

Switzerland participated in the United Nations Pre-Vertex on Food Systems held in Rome from 26 to 28 July 2021, supporting the transformation of food systems.
\nThis international event is part of the preparatory work for the Food Systems Summit to be held in New York in September.
\nAt the United Nations Pre-Summit on Food Systems held in Rome, Switzerland declared its support for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the transformation of food systems at the national and international levels.
\nLed by the State Secretary and the Director of the Federal Office of Agriculture, Christian Hofer, the Swiss delegation, composed of representatives of the Federal Administration and the Swiss National Committee of FAO (CNS-FAO), supported the implementation of the 13 agroecological principles of the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE).<\/p>\n

Innovation and adequate nutrition for all<\/h4>\n

The Swiss representatives also stressed the importance of innovation in all its forms and the realization of the right to adequate food for all.
\nSwitzerland appreciates the multi-stakeholder nature of the pre-summit and is convinced that the involvement of all stakeholders is necessary to make our food systems more sustainable.
\nThe Pre-Summit took place ahead of the Food Systems Summit in September in New York, in parallel with the UN General Assembly.
\nBetween March and June, Switzerland had already organized several dialogues: a national multi-stakeholder dialogue, a dialogue between Swiss cities, a dialogue with international development cooperation partners, and a dialogue between young actors of change.
\nThey are all part of the preliminary work leading up to the Food Systems Summit.
\nParticipants in these dialogues have identified measures to support the transformation to more sustainable food systems in Switzerland and globally.<\/p>\n
