Giampaolo Tortora, Full Professor of Medical Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and Director of the Cancer Center and Medical Oncology of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Gemelli IRCCS, member of the Scientific Committee of Innovabiomed:
\n“It has taught us so much about this pandemic. It has taught us how to manage hospitals internally, how to protect the sick and we have done it in many, in part we have succeeded but we have also learned how in a short time you can break down advances that cost decades of effort, both for treatment and for disease prevention and during the pandemic. The number of screening examinations that are a feather in our country’s cap for various diseases, I mention only those for the cervix, breast and colorectum, are skipped in millions of cases and this means making late diagnoses of oncological diseases with all the implications that this entails.”<\/em><\/p>\n
